MyPlace is an app to share your home with your friends and friends of friends. It’s is a place of global home-sharing through trusted networks, so that together, we can all have more.
When I joined the MyPlace team, our web-based application sported an entirely different brand identity and user experience. During my tenure with the company, we embarked on a transformative journey to re-imagine our brand, overhaul our website, refine our brand guidelines, revamp our messaging, enhance user experience, and shift towards a fully app-based offering.
In this case study, I'll take you through the process of how we achieved this transformation.
As the marketing designer at MyPlace, I played a pivotal role in orchestrating the company's brand evolution. I worked directly under the guidance of the head of marketing, collaborating with talented teams and individuals throughout the organization. My responsibilities included website design, bridging the gap between app design and marketing, and ensuring that both aspects aligned seamlessly to enhance our users' experiences. My journey encompassed a diverse set of tasks and challenges, spanning web design, social media management, content creation, and more.
My team and I implemented an organic social media strategy with a strong community focus. As a result, we gained 4,000 new, real, engaged followers. This not only boosted our online presence and app use but also fostered a more engaged and loyal user base.
Collaborating closely with the head of marketing, I led the charge to overhaul MyPlace's website and digital presence. Our redesigned website now showcased our brand's new identity and improved user experience.
I supported the team in rolling out new brand guidelines, creating a more uniform aesthetic across social media, email communications, and web design.
My role also encompassed the creation of various brand assets, including logos, video campaigns, photoshoots, global events and content libraries. These assets enriched our marketing collateral, created stronger community, and enhanced our storytelling capabilities.
My work extended to updating our pitch deck, a crucial component in securing investments. With these improvements, we successfully secured $5 million in investments, demonstrating the strength and appeal of our revamped brand and digital presence.
